Our mission is to obey the “Great Commission”

We seek to obey Christ’s great commission by joining with Belizeans to follow him together. Pray that Christ uses us to build up his Body in the following ways:

To Make Disciples Who Make New Disciples

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
— St. Matthew 28:18–20

Jesus sends us with his authority to

  1. Go: Forming relationships by crossing those boundaries that keep us apart: nationality, ethnicity, class, culture, or language;

  2. Make disciples: Fearlessly proclaiming to absolutely everyone the Good News of his salvation through a relationship with him;

  3. Baptize: Bringing new followers of Jesus into the his Body, the Church, and sealing them by his grace to be with him forever;

  4. Teach: instructing new followers in the whole counsel of God, so that they can know and love him as they then make disciples of others!

To Form Leaders Who Form New Leaders

Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you. Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.
— St. John 20:21–23

Jesus pours the  Spirit so that we will:

  1. Speak peace: declaring the Father’s forgiveness for sins and removing any obstacles that could possibly prevent redeemed sinners from serving the Lord Jesus Christ as his chosen ambassadors to a world that desperately needs him;

  2. Send others: preparing, apprenticing, and commissioning Jesus’ followers to serve as such Spirit-led leaders of their families, churches, and communities that others will follow their example and become new leaders as well.

To Grow Churches That Grow New Churches

It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
— Acts 1:7–8

Jesus empowers us to be witnesses:

  1. In Jerusalem: serving every church that Christ has already established so that its members can bear witness to the power of his resurrection;

  2. In Judea and Samaria: enabling every church to plant new churches, so that these new churches can bear also witness in new communities to the power of his resurrection;

  3. To the ends of the earth: inspiring every church to send its own missionaries out to the ends of the earth, that all of creation might bear witness to the power of his resurrection before his return in glory!
